2 Workshops in October: Scientific Computing in Sweden and GAMM Applied and Numerical linear Algebra
– Published 18 September 2018
Two workshops will take place in October 2018 at Backagården near Lund.
First the 2nd Workshop on Scientific Computing in Sweden, October 8-10 (Monday-Wednesday), lunch to lunch. This biannual workshop aims to serve as a forum for exchanging new results, discussing education, building networks and strengthening collaboration. It continues a series of conferences of which the last took place in Uppsala 2016. Contributions about all aspects of scientific computing are welcome, explicitly including education. We welcome both posters and talks. There will be a longer poster session in the evening that gives everybody ample time for mingling and discussion in front of the posters.
The deadline for early registration is September 15, 2018 and the deadline for submissions of abstracts has been extended to September 10, 2018. The conference fee includes room and board.

Secondly, directly following, October 10-12, again lunch to lunch is the workshop of the GAMM (Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik) activity group "Applied and Numerical Linear Algebra“.
This year special emphasis is on linear algebra challenges in
optimization, but all other areas of applied and numerical linear
algebra are welcome.
Invited plenary speakers are
- Maya Neytcheva (Uppsala University, Uppsala)
- Anders Forsgren (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm)
- Pontus Giselsson (Lund University, Lund)
