Tell us about your needs for ensuring good research data management

An invitation to researchers at Lund University

– Published 5 January 2018

In October 2017, the university management assigned us (Karl Ageberg, Monica Lassi) the task of developing a structure and way of working with research data and initiate projects related to research data. The idea is to start small, with what’s already going on, and to plan for scaling up as the needs grow.

Our point of departure in this project is the question: How can we support the university’s researchers to conduct excellent research, with the new demands on open science?

There are many different needs, practices, initiatives, projects, and tools at faculties, departments, infrastructures, researchers’ offices. We would like to hear from you, researchers at Lund University:

  • What are your needs for, and current practices of, research data management (RDM)? For example, do you have to use workarounds for managing your research data because your RDM tools aren’t compatible
  • What do you wish you could do with your data in the future, that you can’t today?
  • What do you think should be prioritized regarding RDM?

We wish to hear from you, and particularly to get a conversation going. Please contact us if you’d like to meet – be it in a large-scale meeting with 100 people, or a smaller setting with a research group or a few persons. We can do a presentation to initiate a discussion, or just sit down and listen to how you work and what type of support you need.
