Postdoctoral position in Computational Linguistics

Context: This position is part of the strategic research area effort eSSENCE´s PostDoc-program towards new e-science methods and tools for artificial intelligence in research.

Duties/Project description: Research and development work within the project Domain-Sensitive Cross-Lingual Parsing, which focuses on developing efficient cross-lingual parsing models that work well across diverse domains. The work includes mathematical modeling, linguistic analysis, software development, experimental research and dissemination of scientific results in speech and writing. In addition, the postdoc may be involved in teaching and student supervision up to 20% of full time.

Requirements: To qualify for an employment as a postdoctor you must have a PhD degree or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD degree in computational linguistics or another field strongly connected to the research are, such as computer science, and documented knowledge of machine learning. The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.

Additional qualifications: In the assessment, we will prioritize candidates with strong skills in machine learning, especially with neural networks, programming, mathematical modeling, and linguistic analysis, as well as a proven ability to write scientific text in English. Experience of research on syntactic dependency parsing and domain adaptation will be regarded as an asset.
